Skincare Routine!

Just like any other girl, I go crazy when it comes to cosmetics and beauty products and that is why today's blog post really excites me! Dearest readers, today I'd like to introduce you to my must-have skin products that I use on an everyday and weekly basis, yay!

When I was in middle school up until my high school days, Clinique has been my go to facial products. They were not miraculous or anything, it was just that Clinique was the first facial products brand that I used so I did not have the confidence to switch to any other brands, fearing that they will cause breakouts and other problems.

But after awhile, I found that the packaging of beauty products have gotten even more eye-catching and the facial products that I had always been loyal to seemed to be losing its effects on my skin as well. In addition to that, a beautician who did a facial treatment on me one day also claimed that my skin was so dry and flaky, saying that the products that I had been using might not be suitable for my skin type. After learning more about my skin type and condition (I have sensitive and combination skin!), I realized that it was time for me to search for a more fitting set of facial products.

First up is facial wash. So far I have tried the facial wash from around 5-6 brands, which includes: Kose, Simple, Lancome, Clinique, Biotherm and Clarins. I really, really liked my Biotherm Aquasource Hydrating Facial Wash, after its application, my face felt fresh, clean and very, very soft. However, I really have to say that the best one for me so far is Clarins' Gentle Foaming Cleanser with cottonseed. It's milky, smells really good and it leaves my skin feeling clean, soft and supple without drying it out. I also use the Extra-Comfort Toning Lotion with Aloe Vera as my toner/face lotion. Again, it is very moisturizing and smells very good! Another great point of the lotion is that it does not contain alcohol and it doesn't sting my skin like how my Clinique Clarifying Lotion did. This lotion is highly recommended!

As for moisturizer, I initially used Clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel but then I changed to the lotion version as the gel formula was just not moistirizing enough. However, I felt that the lotion, although very moisturizing, felt sticky on my skin. That is when I stumbled upon Fresh's Rose Hydrating Gel Cream that I now use for my day moisturizer. It smells like roses, which I really , really love! In my opinion, this moisturizer does its job most of the time, however, there are days when my skin is super duper dry and this moisturizer would lose its effect. Nonetheless, I still really like it! For nighttime use, I usually amp up my moisturizer intake by applying Laneige Water Sleeping Pack EX. It takes time for the product to be absorbed, but when it does, my skin feels so soft until the next morning!

As for the last product on my routine list is the Glamglow Supermud. I know people have been going crazy about this little jar of wonder and believe me, I did too! The sight of oil being extracted from your pores is both gross and wonderful. However, I stop using this product too often because I felt that although my skin feels awesome after applying this potent mask, my skin is more prone to redness and blackheads. Therefore, despite my love for this product, I only apply this mask twice a week at most. Besides, it's pretty pricey too!

A Day In Redang

I have never been too fond of South East Asia's scorching hot sun. However, this time I made an exception and went all out, basking under the gigantic and luminously glowing helium-filled balloon during my stay in Redang Island, off the coast of Kuala Terengganu.

I have to say that the beach view didn't disappoint me at all! The color of the sea was a beautiful gradation of blue, the sky was clear and the sand was a dazzling white! I couldn't help myself from taking way too many pictures of the beach

I went on a snorkelling adventure for the very first time as well! Initially, the thought of plunging into the open sea wearing only a life vest and a snorkel gear seemed really scary. I couldn't help but to think that a shark might just come any second to devour every snorkelers out there! Thankfully it didn't happen hahaha

Instantly, I fell in love with the pretty view underneath the water, where anemones and clams nestled on the gorgeous coral reefs.  And guess what? I FOUND NEMO! XD
Despite the salty seawater that irritated my nose and throat every now and then and how my eyes looked droopy and sad with the snorkelling goggles, snorkelling was so much fun!
And please do excuse my lame pose in the otherwise awesome underwater photograph of mine, the lifeguard/photographer had to push my body so hard so that they would manage to take a quick shot of me underwater with the life vest on. I'm not much of a poser myself so this was the only pose I could think of at that moment hahaha

We also released newly hatched sea turtles into the sea. The activity cost us RM20 for each sea turtle and the fund will be channeled into the turtle conservation program! The baby turtles were soooo cute! It was so amazing to see them crawling instinctively into the sea and got drawn in by the sea waves into the ocean, where they truly belong!

I really did enjoy my trip to Redang and I can't wait to go on another trip to the beach and hopefully next time, I will get to learn how to dive so that I'll be able to see more beautiful views in the deep azure.
