dUCked!

Last night I just realized that the dUCk scarves that I've been wanting to buy for ages is a Malaysian brand. Stupid Dara. So the instant I realized that they're local brand I started stalking their gorgeous products at fashionvalet.com and I really, really wanted to get one for myself, just to know what the hype was all about. When I found dUCk on instagram, I was even more devastated and desperate to get my hands on those colourful scarves and turned out that they're having a bazaar at Bangsar Shopping Center throughout the Ramadhan month. Still, the thought of it being just a taxi ride away wasn't enough to convince me to buy one because it is relatively pricey for a scarf, RM120 each! I was having a dilemma on whether to spend that much on money on a scarf or get myself a MAC lipstick plus a nice top on discount at H&M. In the end, I decided to get the scarf since everyone on Instagram kept saying that they're always sold-out so I didn't wanna lose my chance.

The scarf comes in a pretty purple box, which I absolutely love because it made me feel like I'm opening a birthday present! I tried my very best to just buy one. It wasn't an easy task, I'm telling you.

 

After spending so much time and thoughts on which color to buy, I settled on the shade 'Buttermilk', which is a pale beige color. I opted for this since it's pretty much a neutral color that I can wear with anything. dUCk has different scarves material, this one that I bought is called bamboo cotton. There are others called georgette, peachskin, jersey and satin silk. I prefer scarves that stay and not slippery. On top of that, I'm not particularly a fan of inner underscarf, so bamboo cotton was a great choice since it is a little thicker than the others but still very, very soft and cooling. 

Look, I have a little ducky on my scarf! So cute! 

My overall impression? I am in love with my very first dUCk scarf! It's soft, lightweight and has the perfect width and length. Absolutely gorgeous!

I would love to try other colours and in other material as well, especially peachskin.

The only thing I'm not really fond of is of course the price, but considering the quality of the scarf that you get, it's pretty much worth it!

Taylor's Ball

Sooooooo some of my friends and I attended the Taylor's Ball in Sheraton Hotel KL. I was sooo unprepared for the ball and didn't have a decent dress to wear for the occasion, so again, I ended up going on an impulsive shopping trip to Masjid India, going there all the way from Kelana Jaya by LRT for the very first time. 

So after settling for a so-so red dress (because I couldnt find anything nice) and getting ready, we attended the Ball, which was again all the way in KL. The theme for Taylor's Ball this year was constellation, but no one I know has ever followed and dressed up according to a Ball's theme. So I strolled in the Ballroom mightily in me red dress only to find majority of the attendees wearing either black, white or navy blue tuxes and dresses. But never mind. 

We were seated next to the loud speakers, which made my ears half deaf. Nonetheless, the performances were nice. The food, which was served as a buffet was also delicious! 

But then again, the best part of the Ball was of course the part when I won a lucky draw! It was so hilarious, I came back home with an ASUS fonepad! I was so happy

I attended the Ball with some of my council friends. 

Might be one of the few last times we could actually hang out together!

So that's the story of this year's Taylor's Ball! I hope to attend the next year's Ball with more friends since next year will be my final year. Can't wait!
